This wall bed can create additional space in your bedroom with its graceful design. The slatted base and metal frame offer a sturdy surface to provide reliable support to a Super King size mattress. The bed cabinet contains three functional shelves each of which can be used to store decorative items and books. The mattress is not included. The required size for this bed is 180 x 200cm. The recommended mattress thickness is 20cm and weight of 32kg, otherwise, the bed may have difficulties folding back up. Our foam/bonnell sprung mattress can be purchased separately by clicking here.
*Please be aware that for safety reasons the bed needs to be mounted to a wall. Fixings for this will not be included as you need ones specific for your type of wall.
FUNCTIONALITY
This bed provides a sleeping area without taking up valuable living space. You can simply fold up the bed when not in use to reclaim the free space. Add some personal touch and put some picture frames or decorations on the shelves so that the bed can still look interesting even when folded down!
ASSEMBLY AND WALL MOUNTING
Wall beds must be fixed directly to a solid structure such as brick, concrete or a solid timber frame. Wall beds must not be fixed to a plasterboard or similar unless there is a solid structure underneath them. Wall fixings for your specific type of wall can be purchased at a local DIY store. We recommend this item be assembled by a professional joiner or a competent person.

We have just bought our second wall bed from Arthauss to put in our holiday house. The first wall bed at home has been invaluable for my elderly parents to use downstairs in our study. We are really happy with the quality of the wall bed and it is so easy to put up and down.
It takes up much less floor space than a sofa bed would when either is not in use. Plus we knew a sofa bed would not be substantial enough for my elderly parents. This is a proper sprung bed.
It can be stored away with the duvet and sheets still on kept in place by straps. We didn’t get a headboard and perhaps should have done, as there is a gap at the head end where the bed stows away when up - but we just put some spare cushions there instead which is fine. NB Building the wall bed is not too difficult in fact for anyone who can build IKEA furniture though it does take several hours and needs two people at times. But my teenage children did most of the building work until we need to attach the end to the wall.
HOWEVER - be very careful to check the labelling of each bag. My daughter emptied various of the screws out trying to work out which screws were which. And we were totally mystified by the bag labelling. We wasted time having to work out which screws were which.
For the second bed I asked about this and I have been told by Arthauss “We confirm that the manufacturer labels the fixing bags according to the steps in the assembly instructions. A bag labeled 38-40-42 will contain fixings for each of these steps, with the assembly instructions specifying the required fixings at the top of each page, including their dimensions, a corresponding diagram and how many would be required”.
Due to the Euro diagrams with no words on at all we had not understood at all that 38-40-42 meant there were pieces for steps 38-40-42 in the bag -
and we had been mystified why the bags had completely different and seemingly random numbers on compared to the the types of screws inside. Duh! Maybe we are the stupid ones but we are good at building IKEA furniture!!! Armed with this knowledge we think building the next bed will be much easier! There aare copious amounts of different small parts so keep them organised with a separate bowl for each bag, lined up in order, and you’ll be fine.
Good quality board and hardware make this a great value buy. Assembly is challenging but rewarding. Jigsaw logic needed. Getting the right fixings to the wall is where thought and knowledge is needed. M6 bolts with good wall anchors are needed. Paired it with an Ikea super king mattress for some extra comfort.
Awsome piece of kit and easily assembled. Instructions are clear. If you have not assembled one of these before then don't open the bed if it's not bolted to the wall and don't undo the wall bolts if the bed is open 😁 made a mess of my frame but it's fixable lol 1st time for everything ... thank you for my bed I'm more than happy with it and the service has been great 👍

Extremely impressed with the quality of this product, easy to follow instructions and the customer support was exceptional. I rarely by something I've never seen before, and I'm so pleased I took a chance at this, as I wasn't disappointed in the slightest! Highly recommended!
I cheated and had a carpenter fit mine, he’s said it was no problem to do and took 5 hours start to finish.
My only issue is the pin on the right side that should hold the opening part closed when not in use doesnt work so a little disappointed
Great bed with the worst instructions known to man. Pieces aren’t named, steps are missing entirely, and not even the screws have numbers or identification on them. Really good bed functionally, but extremely difficult to recommend when instructions are so poor.
Genuinely, for your sanity and time, only get this if you are willing to spend upwards of 15 straight hours to build the bed due to the worst instructions I’ve ever had the displeasure of following.
Very well made and ok for experienced diy people - managed on my own but better with help! Took about 2 days - some of the diagrams not too helpful but mainly they are ok.
Very comfortable and sturdy. The build process should not be taken lightly - the components are heavy and substantial.
It’s a tremendous space-saver and actually functions well as a bed, unlike a sofa bed.
The only drawback is the inability to adjust the tolerances - in our case it was impossible to build the sides completely parallel, so the panel which you use to draw the bed down is misaligned. Some way to adjust for the ‘racking’ of the frame would be useful.
Other than that, great product.
I have this bed for over two years now and I use it every day. It's perfect. During the day the entire room is available as a play area for my daughter, and at night is my bedroom. Works perfectly, super confortable.
Nightmare to install but worth all the effort when completed, rewarded ten fold, love it, customer service always willing to assist, can't fault the experience with Arthauss.

Firstly, this bed really is quite difficult to assemble and the instructions are a little ambiguous in parts, however, with a small amount of frustration, I managed it over 2 days with a friend for the first when assembling the cabinet, that helped.
As a piece of furniature, when the bed is away, it looks very nice and fits inconspicuously into my room.
As a bed, it is very sturdy. However, there are a couple of points to be aware of:
1: Max. mattress depth is 18cm, this requires a little research online to find one which is suitable, I went for the Emma essentials (18cm).
2: When folding away a fully made bed, it can be tricky to get the bed clothes tucked inside the unit. But it is very doable, I think with more practice I will get this spot on.
3: This is a biggy, there is no head board and a large gap between head and wall due to the design, I keep losing my pillows in the night! Looking at the design and mechanics, I'm sure a head board could be added, this would make this bed perfect.
Over all I am very pleased, it works very well for my circumstances. If it had an integral headboard and the instructions were less ambiguous in parts, this would be a perfect product.
