Manufactured from the laminated board, this exquisite wall bed is capable of comfortably supporting European double mattresses with its sturdy spring mechanism and locking system. The horizontal structure gives way to an exceedingly broad top surface which can be utilized as an extensive shelf for showcasing treasured valuables, resting books and other items which may be cluttering your room up.

The mattress is not included. The required size for this bed is 140 x 200cm [EU Double]. Maximum depth is 18cm, otherwise, the bed won't fold back up. Our foam/bonnell sprung mattress can be purchased separately

SOLID DESIGN

Our murphy bed comes complete with all parts and hardware ready-to-assemble. The carcass is made from a solid 22mm high-quality laminated board and the front panel is of a 16mm thickness. Wooden sprung slats are included. Finished with matt silver-coloured handle and cappuccino coloured leg for that modern look.

Please be aware that for safety reasons the bed needs to be mounted to a wall. Fixings for this will not be included as you need ones specific for your type of wall.

FUNCTIONALITY

This bed provides a sleeping area without taking up valuable living space. You can simply fold up the bed when not in use to reclaim the free space. Add some personal touch to and put some photos up on the backboard so that the bed can still look interesting even when folded down!

ASSEMBLY AND WALL MOUNTING

Wall beds must be fixed directly to a solid structure such as brick, concrete or a solid timber frame. Wall beds must not be fixed to a plasterboard or similar unless there is a solid structure underneath it. Wall fixings for your specific type of wall can be purchased at a local DIY store. We recommend this item to be assembled by a professional joiner or a competent person.

Very good quality piece of furniture. Takes a while to build, but once done it is very sturdy. Most of the construction can be done by one person, but do need help to attach bed to cabinet, and to fix to the wall. The only thing to point out is it takes a euro size mattress so a regular double will have a small gap around it - we preferred this as a bigger mattress can be a bit too big for regular sheets.

Assembling is harder than the smiling couple presented in the video I found on the website. However the wall mounted horizontal bed from Arthaus is definitely the one worth buying. Solid material overall and once it's done, you'll love it. Few internal shelves would be great but I think these can be added after installment. Nice piece of furniture.

Great experience with customer service bed is exactly as described. solid, good quality and nicely finished. Took me 1whole day to assemble on my own so even a woman can do it, although great to have some help with putting the door in place as it's heavy as f. I had my old mattress 20cm thick but it fit no problem. It turned my tiny guest room into more usable space. The only thing that confused me was screws labels other than that I had no problems. Already recommended to friends ;)

Myself and my husband are disappointed with this purchase. It was so incredibly difficult to put together (and my husband is a carpenter), with the manual being inaccurate and leading to the damage of some of the parts during assembly. There is also a leg which sticks out and has caused to trip over several times, so we need to wrap a towel around it to avoid this happening. Would not recommend.

The item itself is lovely but the instructions are so poor and it took two well equipped men used to building and construction an entire 8 hours to build!! Some of the holes do not line up which was frustrating. It looks nice but should be clearer.

It is one of the most solid beds I have ever purchased. It is not easy to assemble as you need at least one more person to help with the lifting of the parts. However, it took 5 hours to build. It is truly hardcore and solid build. I am delighted with it. It saves so much space, and it looks just beautiful.

This is a great product, very sturdy and I am very happy with my purchase. I have read some of the other reviews and putting this together is not very straight forward so make sure you have plenty of patience. I was doing this in a small room so had to use 2 different rooms as I didn't have enough space to put it all together in the same room. The only issue was then moving the bed/front panel part back into the smaller room and finding the space to get everything put together. The instructions and video are slightly different from each other so bear this in mind if you try to follow both of them as you can get a bit confused. Delivery was excellent as I was number 5 on the list for the day and they arrived just after 7am which saved me wasting lots of time and customer service is excellent as I was missing a small part which was ordered for me straight away.

Whilst the paper instructions are comprehensive they differ with the accompanying video particularly when building the first frame Also,this is a 2 person job not to be erected in a small room as it then gets awkward to work on the sides Most importantly it needs a 90 degree wall so not best suited to a typical joisted carpeted room[tricky to level accurately] Best to have placed it on say a 18 or better still 24mm plyboard levelled in advance However it is of good sturdy quality and looks very nice once erected.

A great end result with a challenging journey. Cannot be installed too close to a side wall or you won't be able to finish the installation (in particular the external screw that holds the bed to the wall). Think carefully on how you will attach it to the wall. On carpet at least, you're very likely to need shingles to correct the shape. Still, once completed, it's a very nice piece. Not far in quality from a custom job.

Bed is really nice but assembling is a nightmare, instructions are not clear. Also the amount of pressure on the plaster wall was way too much. I had to remove few springs to make it balanced, I would not sleep with the fear of being crushed should the gingers come off the plaster wall. The design should take this into account and explain how to reduce the traction in the manual, which is not explained. Took me several days to figure out but the bed is very Stilish and save a lot of space. It could be 5 stars is the assembly was easier.
