The mattress is not included. The required size for this bed is 140 x 200cm. The recommended mattress thickness is 20cm and weight of 18kg, otherwise, the bed may have difficulties folding back up. Our foam/bonnell sprung mattress can be purchased separately by clicking here.
Please be aware that for safety reasons the bed needs to be mounted to a wall. Fixings for this will not be included as you need ones specific for your type of wall.
FUNCTIONALITY
This bed provides a sleeping area without taking up valuable living space. You can simply fold up the bed when not in use to reclaim the free space. Add some personal touch and put some picture frames or decorations on the shelves so that the bed can still look interesting even when folded down!
ASSEMBLY AND WALL MOUNTING
Wall beds must be fixed directly to a solid structure such as brick, concrete or a solid timber frame. Wall beds must not be fixed to a plasterboard or similar unless there is a solid structure underneath them. Wall fixings for your specific type of wall can be purchased at a local DIY store. We recommend this item be assembled by a professional joiner or a competent person.

The end product was excellent but instructions a bit vague at times.
Some items would have been easier to assemble if included earlier in instructions and before slats fitted.
With a low ceiling,, the wall fixings were difficult, so maybe another option of fixing would have been good.
I ordered the mattress, head board and led lights as well as side cabinets.
All works very well and very comfortable.

The whole process from ordering to delivery was seamless. Lots of communication and details about the delivery, which arrived quickly and on time. 9 boxes in total with the bed, mattress, headboard and lights. All very well packaged with wood slats protection the outside edges, very impressed. The bed is very well made and seems good quality with solid components. I did watch the online video, which was very helpful and listened to reviews which said about reading the instructions first. Each of the bags with nuts bolts and screws is numbered, detailing the instructions that they are used for. If there are any left over from each section, you have gone wrong 😊. Don't underestimate how long this bed takes to put together and attach to the wall correctly. It took us 9 hours from start to finish. Something to be mindful of is that it needs to go on an outside wall using the appropriate fixings, it can't go on a partitioned plasterboard wall. All in all a great product and I would recommend.

Finished product is excellent. Actually slimmer than anticipated. I'm pleased I bought the lights and the mattress, just made life easier!

I have wanted one of these for years to save space. Other reviews said it took them days to build, hard to read instructions etc. Well I couldn’t disagree more. I have been building flat pack furniture for years and done it for a job. This was very simple to do. The instructions aren’t English but the pictures are so easy to follow and understand. It took me and my son 5 hours to build. Inexperienced people if you take your time and keep organised it shouldn’t take anymore than 8 hours for two people. The quality of the wood is fantastic very strong indeed for flat pack. Do not try to build this with hand tools unless you want to be at it for days. Get yourself a cordless drill/driver and set the torque at minimum power to avoid ripping the screws out.
I have a 220mm memory foam mattress which fits perfectly you have to take the pillows of to fold it up.
All in all great service immediate response to emails. Quality is fantastic no missing or damaged parts myself snd children love this bed.

Firstly I received a call saying the bed will come at 7am on a certain day.. Not ideal but at least I got could be ready at that time.. Joiner agreed to assemble it and he was making good progress up to point 23 where he realised some screws were missing. Messaged seller who dispatched the screws and joiner finished assembling the bed. It is amazing for small rooms like the one I have.. Ordered mattress with it and the LED lights.. Overall 4/5.. Get a professional to assemble it.. Otherwise you will get frustrated.

This is a well-designed kit of parts that is very accurately machined and goes together well. However, the guidance of 4 hours for three people is probably optimistic! I did most of it on my own, which is possible, apart from a couple of lifting/placing activities where I needed help, and it probably took me 16 hours or more. This was partly because of a couple of minor errors, where I had to take sections apart again and remake them, but also taking time to study the instructions to try to minimise errors in the first place. It is worth reading a couple of sections ahead, before doing a section, because sometimes this clarifies what you are doing or why you are doing it. The instructions are clear, but could still be improved: there are a number of parts that are only subtly different, and it would help to have the differences highlighted in the assembly drawings. The instructions for the assembly of the mattress frame are an example - the guide draws attention to the orientation of the top and bottom sections so that they are not fitted upside down by mistake, but unknown to me, I had placed the central section upside down (the instructions were less definite about this), so I still assembled it incorrectly! That said, the drawings are always correct, and if you study them closely enough, you will not make a mistake, but you do have to study them very closely indeed. Assembly of 13.11 is easy to get wrong, as it is put in place with the screw fasteners facedown, which seems wrong at the time (the drawing is clear about this if you study it, but it is easy to think that the fastener detail has been missed off the drawing). Also, a tip that I would give is to get a set of pozi and hex driver bits for your cordless power tool/driver, as this will save so much time. Finally, do not approach this project as a quick job that will probably take less time than the manual suggests. Try to enjoy the assembly process instead, and do allow plenty of time! The result is very satisfying.
Hi, got this bed for my Grandson for when he's staying over.
Bed allows for him to still have the space in room to do other activities. Love the already spread and just pull down.
Assembley instructions could be clearer. It took a couple of attempts towards the end to get the easy pull down results. But eventually got there. And beautiful finish and appearance.
He luvs his new space and bed, very comfortable and both mum and dad have jumped in on occasions also.

It is fantastic, I love it. I have to say I only had the space I was wanting it for to build it in which isn’t a big room. The instructions are pretty good although could definitely do with some labelling of parts as they are so big you cannot possibly lay them all out to see the slight differences to know you have the correct part. Also for economic packing quite often you are opening a couple of extra boxes to get to the part you need even though you still have 3 very similar parts in the already opened box. I had to build it on my own and it was doable. Maybe adding something to hold the bed down so you can finish building that part would be helpful rather than feeling under constant threat of being folded up in the thing and lost forever! I luckily had a barbell to hand to help there but not a wonderfully safe solution.

Excellent solution to our rather small spare room. The assembly was complex but successful. The end result is sturdy and works well. A headboard would probably be better included in the package - we are now purchasing one after the event.
Two tips, but not meant as criticisms: 1) The packages and the assembly take up a lot of floor space - something which people who buy wall beds are probably short of. We ended up spreading parts over several rooms. 2) It is so important to have a person dedicated to sitting on the bed frame to weigh it down until the assembly is complete and the mattress is in place.
A bit of a nightmare to put together! I'm quite good at flat pack, but this was so complicated, it took my wife and I, 16 hours over 2 days. The video misses out so many steps out and lacks any close&ups, so barely any use. Instructions could be much better.
We ordered the bed, mattress and headboard. All are very good quality. The bed takes a few days to assemble but the instructions are quite clear. There are several online videos, some in Polish. They can be accessed from the QR code, recommend viewing them first. There were a couple of issues with the shipped items but Arthauss quickly resolved them, including sending a replacement headboard for free. HIghly recommend both the company and the products.
Note: If you are installing the headboard make sure the label is on the correct side as indicated in the manual. It has a hinge inside which only bends in one direction.
Quality product with very good and desecrate mechanism. Be aware this is a significant self build project which needs careful examination of the instructions. The video of how to construct is also useful when putting it together but could be clearer. Even as a professional engineer, this build was testing at times. So if you are not good at self builds, you will need some help from someone who is. Mine went together almost perfectly, except for a single metal peg which had a manufacturing flaw which I could work around. The don't supply any spare metal pegs or other assembly components which would help overcome such issues.
This has been my best buy for a long time. I visited the showroom in Lincoln and was given great assistance by Karolina who explained everything about this type of wall bed. I later dealt with Paulina by email who was extremely helpful. The bed arrived on schedule and my "handyman" installed it in around 5 hours. (Don't attempt this on your own unless you a good DIY type of person. The assembly manual has 30 pages and the bed comes in seven separate boxes so make sure you have plenty of space in the room to store the boxes until you are ready to install it.
The bed is amazing in that the gas pistons make it easy to pull down and put back up. I can keep the bed fully made all the time (although I keep the pillows in the wardrobe). The mattress is very comfortable and the fact I can put things like books, magazines or bottles of water in the shelves above the headboard is an added bonus. It leave lots of space in my spare room for other things when I don't have guests. I would highly recommend this wall bed and especially the service from the staff. It is simply a normal bed which happens to be able to be stored upright. It was a no-brainer for me. Two of my friends are thinking about making similar purchases from Arthauss Furniture.
