The mattress is not included. The required size for this bed is 140 x 200cm [EU Double]. The maximum depth is 18cm, otherwise, the bed won't fold back up. Our foam/bonnell sprung mattress can be purchased separatelyHERE.
SOLID DESIGN
Our murphy bed comes complete with all parts and hardware ready-to-assemble. Carcass is made from a solid 22mm high quality laminated board and the front panel is of a 16mm thickness. Wooden sprung slats are included. Finished with matt silver-coloured handle and cappuccino coloured leg for that modern look.
Please be aware that for safety reasons the bed needs to be mounted to a wall. Fixings for this will not be included as you need ones specific for your type of wall.
FUNCTIONALITY
This bed provides a sleeping area without taking up valuable living space. You can simply fold up the bed when not in use to reclaim the free space. Add some personal touch to and put some photos up on the backboard so that the bed can still look interesting even when folded down!
ASSEMBLY AND WALL MOUNTING
Wall beds must be fixed directly to a solid structure such as brick, concrete or a solid timber frame. Wall beds must not be fixed to a plasterboard or similar unless there is a solid structure underneath it. Wall fixings for your specific type of wall can be purchased at a local DIY store. We recommend this item to be assembled by a professional joiner or a competent person.

Great! Built this in 12 hours, minimal breaks - instructions were ok if you followed properly, needed 3 people at one point. Really chuffed - looks great, feels really sturdy....the clasp was very flimsy though and pointless and got ripped off accidentally the second the bed was built..I removed one of the springs on each side as the mattress am using is foam and doesnt have much weight - has worked out great.
The communication after purchase and delivery of the bed was great all round.
Good sized comfortable alternative bed, blends in to the room well. Quite a challenge to build but all components fit well, needs two strong people to build as completed bed is very heavy
The bed is extremely well made, strong and easy to use once built. The instructions were easy enough to follow but please get help to build it as its extremely heavy, and take your time. The delivery drivers were also very helpful carrying the bed boxes into our house, and checked over each box for any possible damages.
Fantastic piece of furniture, very sturdy and well designed. Instructions are good if you take the time to read them, took about 3-4 hours to build but I wasn’t in a rush. If you fit the spring cover I found that half lifting the bed helped, otherwise I couldn’t get them in position, other than that it was very straightforward. Bought with the mattress it was a very comfortable bed, as it’s for my grandkids staying occasionally it leaves the full room for them to play when it’s stored away, which is brilliant.

I spent plenty of time reading and rereading the instructions and watching the videos, I identified and labelled all the panels and sorted all the fixings into separate bags for each section of the build. Due to suffering with a bad back, I was only able to do an hour or so at a time so the build, from start to finish took over a week but could easily have been completed sooner. I had add a baton to the wall as I was fixing the housing to a stud and timber wall and the uprights were not in the right location but, aside from that, and only having millimeters to spare between the two walls (which meant that getting the bed base constructed and then sliding it into the side arms was a real challenge)!!!...still we got there and we are very impressed.
It is so easy to Lower and raise the bed.
Not easy to put together, and the instructions could be clearer. However, once together this is a very substantial piece of furniture. It looks good and is solid AND comfortable. I recommend making it in the room it is intended to be in.

A well made unit. Assembly was difficult at times so unless you are confident in assembling ready package furniture we would recommend using the services of the suppliers to assemble this product.
We fitted the unit into a small back bedroom which has enabled us to utilise the room when the bed is not in use.

We do like the bed, although delivery was later than shown when ordered the bed. Also, the video instructions sent was for smal sideboard style bed, not the upright one! The plans weren't terribly clear, but luckily have a DIY savvy husband. The hinges were tricky to fit, and would say having two or three people around would be helpful when putting it together. Arthauss did keep us posted throughout delivery issue, and answered our queries quickly.
This is my second purchase, I already have two such beds, horizontal and vertical. I am very satisfied, they are super comfortable. delivery very fast. if you are wondering if it's worth it? then definitely yes.👌🏼😍
An amazing product! We had to purchase this bed after giving our bedroom up so the kids get their own rooms! So we use it on a daily! Took my partner about 6-7 hours to put up on his own! He said it isn’t too bad putting up but he is a joiner so quite skilled in this kind of stuff! Definitely recommend

Putting this brilliant wall bed together is not a quick or easy job, but if you put the time aside and methodically work your way through the process, you’ll be delighted with the result.
I did feel that it would have been much better if they had bagged up the screws, bolts, washers etc in a more logical way. And plenty of space makes the process a bit easier too!
Really well made and solid double bed, brought the mattress and very comfortable. Built wardrobes round, looks very good. Takes a solid 6hrs to build, takes time but instructions are clear and easy to follow. Cracking price for this quality.
Amazing bed looks great gives so much more space to the room I will say it is very hard to put together took us 11 hours straight it will test you as you can see we put handle on wrong but we have now corrected it after a long day it had to do amazing product but you need time patience and help to put it together

Only giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because the instructions were completely wrong for the part at the end where you pop the covers on the springs. It says to do it from the front after the bed is attached to the wall. We tried and tried and scratched the inside of the bed trying, which is a huge shame as we’d been so careful. We ended up having to take the bed back off the wall and insert them easily from the back.
Took 3-4 days for my husband to build with my assistance!

Make sure you take your time building this. It's do able but don't expect to have it done quickly! My girlfriend and I managed to do it without a huge argument so it's a great way to rest a relationship! We found marking the pieces up with their numbers in pencil really helped as the instruction manual does seem a bit mad at first. It's does makes sense though, just read it carefully.
The customer service has been brilliant, we had some screws missing and they were sent out next day so really can't complain at all!

The building of our wall bed was full on, but we survived it. Overall we are delighted with our new bed.
What a great wall bed finally finished, had to get an installer to put it all together as I work 12 hour shifts, instructions were confusing but the installer managed, couple of tweeks but it's up and being used highly recommend to get a couple of helpers, it's so easy to open close, I would definitely recommend getting this one or other wall beds the mattress I bought elsewhere is a bit firm but I will get use to sleeping on it.

Only minus is the fact that they do not provide assembly service as it is a complicated one to make, and I had to spend £200 to assemble it.

Delivery was early because they saw the lights on. Delivered at 05:50 instead of 06:00. Excellent guys put boxes in lounge and pointed out which box had instructions. Opened box with instructions got my breakfast and read instructions.
I would recommend at least 2 people for assembly. Boxes and contents are very well made and very heavy.
Instructions say build in 4 hours, took us one day but we got spring adjustment wrong. Reset springs as per instructions and everything was perfect.
Only regret we did not order mattress at the same time as the bed.
Photo shows bed closed with protective covers on base of the bed.
This bed is very good, because of a deep skirting board we did not cut away at the bottom, but bed still fastened firmly to the wall with approx 50mm space between wall and bed. Base was up firm to skirting board and fastened using supplied wall bracket and raw bolts.
Excellent product highly recommended - I would just advise to purchase mattress at same time.
Moving on carpet is difficult but we used the hardboard packing strips under the bottom fittings and slowly slid the bed into position.

With working from home I wanted to change our spare bedroom into a multi use space and this bed was the perfect way to do so. Once built the bed feels very robust and has a high quality finish, but be warned that it is a hard unit to build. My partner is very good with this type of thing as used to do it as a job and even he found the instructions hard to follow, and found some of the alignments for screws slightly out which made things frustrating. There was also some bolts missing, but Arthauss did send these out to us very quickly and we could continue building the rest of the unit while we waited for those to arrive. It is worth it once done and goes up and down so smoothly but just make sure you know your stuff and have set aside plenty of time for the build. Would still recommend to anyone looking to buy something to transform a space.
Overall, I’m pretty pleased with the product itself. Once built, the quality is good and I’m happy with the finished result.
One word of warning though: the build is very, very long and pretty tough going. It suggests around four hours, but in my experience that is nowhere near realistic. Some of the instructions are also quite poor and there are definitely points where it tells you to do things in an order that makes later steps difficult or impossible without going back.
Also worth knowing that the instructions and fittings are in the box labelled 6 of 6, so I’d recommend finding and opening that box first before starting.
The biggest disappointment was the delivery. The item comes in six fairly heavy boxes. The drivers arrived at around 8:45am and refused to carry them up the roughly ten steps to our front door unless I paid them £20.
In fairness, an email had been sent saying there would be an additional charge for deliveries involving stairs. However, this was sent just before midnight the night before delivery, so I hadn't seen it and had absolutely no opportunity to make alternative arrangements. Had my pregnant girlfriend been home alone, the boxes would simply have had to sit at the bottom of the stairs all day as she wouldn't have been able to move them.
I think giving customers such little notice of an important delivery restriction is pretty unreasonable, particularly for an item consisting of six large, heavy boxes.
To make matters worse, when I jokingly referenced the £20 charge as I was being asked to sign for the delivery, one of the drivers became quite aggressive, which left a particularly poor impression.
So overall, a good product once assembled and I’m pleased with the end result, but be prepared for a much longer build than advertised and, unfortunately, my experience with the delivery service was very poor.
I found it a quite a challenge to put together this item but I did it on my own so this didn’t help , but I have to say the content of the packaging was piece perfect and the overall quality once completed was fantastic.
Would definitely recommend if you have minimum space and would like a full size bed.
